I'm not a huge Drake fan but I do love this track. It's been stuck in my head for days! I just avoid singing it aloud in public since the lyrics aren't exactly appropriate :-/
RAC's 2nd ever original track (since they primarily remix other artists' songs) features vocals by Kele (of Bloc Party) & MNDR & has been on constant repeat in my boring office today.
Thanks for introducing me, Lindsey Fisher! Your holiday rockstar mix CDs are the BEST!
I can't wait for Metronomy's new album Love Letters to be released on 3/10/14! I've only seen Metronomy 1 time before (at El Rey Theatre in June 2012) so I'm hopeful a new album means another tour because they were/are phenomenal live! Their chest lights were my fave :)
This new Jose Gonzalez track from The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty soundtrack just got me EXTRA excited to see the film as soon as it's released on Christmas Day. From what I've heard, Gonzalez provided quite a few new songs for the movie which is awesome because I've been a big fan of both him & his band Junip for years. His voice is BEAUTIFUL.
Last night, I visited Sassafras Saloon in Hollywood (on Vine just south of Fountain) for my 1st time & saw my 1st Reverend Tall Tree show. The venue was super cool (it doesn't hurt that they sell $5 well whiskey!) & the band was fantastic! I forgot how much I love the harmonica!
Reverend Tall Tree plays Sassafras on a regular basis so I'll definitely be back & I recommend you do the same!
Because I'm getting so excited for the new Broken Bells album, I can't stop listening to the debut album. The entire record is brilliant. This is 1 of my favorite tracks...
Daft Punk's brand new video for the track Instant Crush (featuring Julian Casablancas) tells the tragic tale story of 2 mannequins in love. I guess some people might be into the sort of thing? It's a bit creepy if you ask me but that's because I hate dolls & mannequins are basically just giant dolls. I'm happy they melted...lol.
I was turned onto this track yesterday by 1 of my Canadian, Sasquatch-going friends & now I can't get enough of Rhode Island-born, Stockholm-based singer Mapei!
The brand-new, trippy, official, animated, Galen Pehrson-directed video for Devendra Banhart's track Mondo Taurobolium features Devendra & Rose McGowan as pair of drugged-out ducks.
