Nothing beats spending a gorgeous summer night at a concert at Hollywood Bowl & this past Sunday night was no exception. The only show I'd seen at the Bowl so far this summer was Bjork in June &, because that was a specialty lease event, I wasn't able to bring my own booze into the venue (1 of my favorite features of Hollywood Bowl). Bjork was incredible so it didn't matter but I was extra stoked to finally attend a regular Bowl show so I could enjoy some BYOW(ine) action!
And the icing on the cake (or wine!) was that Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros put on an absolutely FANTASTIC show! Alexander Ebert (who I used to think WAS Ed Sharpe), Jade Castrinos & their 10-man band have on-stage dynamics amongst themselves &, even more uniquely, with the audience like no other band I've seen. They pull people up onto stage, they give microphones to random people who can just belt out a few lines of a song if they please, they dance around in the crowd, they walk around barefoot, they act like they don't know what song they're going to play next because everything is SO spur of the moment (whether that's real or not, I don't care...lol) & they just reel the audience in. It's REALLY good stuff :)
