The Rain by Calvin Harris

Since my Sasquatch videos are still currently uploading to Youtube, my official Sasquatch 2012 post won't be ready until at least tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a track that was one of my favorite latenight campground party dance tracks :-)

Every Single Night by Fiona Apple

This video is beyond strange but, because it's Fiona Apple, I totally dig it! I am SO excited to see her for my 1st time on July 29th at The Hollywood Palladium! She hasn't released a new album in 7 years!

Lotus Plaza & Ramona Falls @ The Echo - 5/10/12

OK so Lotus Plaza's vocals definitely weren't loud enough last night but I still enjoyed their set. They picked up momentum as they went along so I'm sure they'll work out the kinks soon enough :-)

On the bright side, I had never heard of Ramona Falls until right before the show last night when I told they were the new project by Brent Knopf who used to be 1 of the 3 members of Menomena. I LOVE Menomena so I was optimistic I'd like Ramona Falls & I REALLY did!

Unfortunately, I accidentally left my camera charging at home so the video & pic below are "borrowed" but I think that's OK, right? These things happen.

Ed Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros @ The Greek Theatre - 5/3/12

Many thanks to www.zigabid.com for hooking my oh so loyal & fabulous concert buddy, Darin, & I up with super last minute 6th row seats (Section A, Row F for only $55/ticket!) for Ed Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at The Greek Theater last Friday night! Our view was INCREDIBLE & the show was an absolute blast! Ed Sharpe & his crew definitely have a unique performance style but it's fun & it works! I was particularly thrilled when they performed one of Alexander's solo project tracks, Truth. See the video below!!

Take A Walk by Passion Pit

Passion Pit's new single ON REPEAT!

I haven't gotten tickets yet but I don't think I'll be able to resist Hot Chip & Passion Pit at The Hollywood Bowl on September 9th. Hot Chip opened for LCD Soundsystem at The Hollywood Bowl in October 2010 (which was LCD's last live show in California & MY 7th & final LCD concert before their FINAL last shows in NYC) & Hot Chip was incredible...as was LCD of course! And I saw Passion Pit at Sasquatch either last year or the year before & was pleasantly surprised by how good they were live so I think the Hot Chip/Passion Pit combo in September will be pretty f*ckin sweet.

You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon (featuring Chevy Chase!)

I've always loved this song but I never knew Chevy Chase was in the video! Now I love it even more & find it hilarious that Chevy is twice Paul's size...LOL

Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack

In honor of Maurice Sendak who passed away today at the age of 83, I thought it was only appropriate to share my favorite songs from the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack.

Metronomy @ El Rey Theatre - 5/3/12

My biggest regret of Coachella 2012 was missing Metronomy's Sunday afternoon set. I stupidly decided to wait until just after 2pm (when their set began) to get in line to enter the festival. I figured I'd only miss a couple songs because it had only taken 5-10 minutes to get through the entrance's security line on both Friday & Saturday but, while in line, I heard a rumor that security had found a GUN on someone on Saturday so security had to be a LOT tighter on Sunday. I'm not sure if that rumor was true or not but, if it was, F*CK the person who tried to bring a gun to Coachella! Not only is that 1 of the dumbest things anyone could ever do but it also led to it taking over 45 minutes for me to get into the fest on Sunday &, because of that, I missed Metronomy's set completely!

On the bright side, Metronomy played El Rey Theatre just last night (less than a month after weekend 1 of Coachella) in Los Angeles &, since my friend Darin won tickets to the show from KCRW, I got to go with him for FREE! And, in the grand scheme of things, I'm SO happy my 1st Metronomy show ended up being at night at my all-time favorite indoor venue in LA as opposed to being outside during the day in the middle of the desert
.

It turns out Metronomy is INCREDIBLE live & their chest lights make them even cooler so be sure to check out my 2 videos below. I already CANNOT WAIT to see them again!
