If you didn't know who the f*ck Bon Iver was before the Grammys on February 12th, hopefully you've figured it out by now because THIS is simply BEAUTIFUL.
One of my MANY favorite things about Eastern Conference Champions is their full-band drumming outro. Check it out below!
I already can't wait to catch my 3rd ECC show on Monday 3/5/12 with Voxhaul Broadcast at The Satellite! Buy you tickets TODAY! http://www.ticketfly.com/event/87307/
Every winter, I have an absolute blast with my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends at Santa Clara's University's annual Golden Circle black tie charity ball in Downtown San Jose. The evening always begins with a concert at the Center for Performing Arts then the 2,000+ guests walk directly over to the Fairmont Hotel for a cocktail hour, fancy sit-down dinner & dancing until well after midnight.
In years past, I've been fortunate enough to see TONS of classic artists perform including Huey Lewis & The News, The Beach Boys, The Doobie brother, Gladys Knight, The Pointer Sisters, Smokey Robinson & Kenny Loggins. And, thanks to my father being a past Board of Fellows president, I've gotten to shake hands & take photos with quite of few of these world famous musicians.
Last Saturday night, Earth, Wind & Fire (who've been performing together for over 40 years now) got the Golden Circle crowd movin' more than I've ever seen them move before!!
I was just introduced to this trippy, awesome band, Rubblebucket, today & I already CANNOT WAIT to see them live at The Bootleg on Friday April 6th! I've heard they're ridiculously good live &, seeing how strange their music videos are, I believe it.
After seeing Das Tapes for my 2nd time on Friday night (this time, I was able to catch their entire act AND I got to briefly meet both Kevin & Mark after their set!) & becoming recently obsessed with the sick new music video for their hit single This Party, I'm now more enamored with these boys than ever. I know for a fact Das Tapes are gonna be HUGE.
My 3rd year in a row at my ALL-TIME FAVORITE music festival is going to be the best one yet!
Jack White & Beck are 2 of my most beloved artists & I can't wait to see Bon Iver on the Gorge's main stage most likely (at least hopefully) at sunset. A few other artists I'm particularly stoked about include The Shins, tUnE-yArDs, Little Dragon, Beirut, Spiritualized, Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, Girl Talk, The Roots, The Head & The Heart, Feist, Metric, Explosions In The Sky, The Joy Formidable, Mogwai, M. Ward, Childish Gambino, St. Vincent, Wolfgang Gartner, Beats Antique, The Walkmen, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Blitzen Trapper, Grouplove, SBTRKT, Strfkr, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Deer Tick, Alabama Shakes, Dum Dum Girls, Kurt Vile, We Are Augustines, Zola Jesus, The War On Drugs, Cass McCombs, Gary Clark Jr., Purity Ring &Yellow Ostrich. I bolded the ones I haven't seen before ;-)
I am SO happy I already bought my 4-day pass AND booked my flights to & from Seattle well over a month ago because this year is gonna sell out FAST.
I was lucky enough to get a chance to check out Das Tapes on 1/7/12 when I went to see my good friend PZB spin at Dim Mak Studios on Hollywood Boulevard & I was seriously impressed. I can't wait to hear (& see) more from these guys! Their 1st official music video for their super fun single This Party is hilariously awesome.
